If I had to choose my favorite evidence for evolution this would be it.

My favorite evidence for evolution is described at Human chromosome two makes the magic Jeebus man cry.

Molecular biologists noticed we have 23 pairs of chromosomes while our closest cousins (chimpanzees) have 24 pairs. They made predictions about what they would find if they looked for it. These predictions had to be true or else evolution would have to be thrown out.

They predicted one of our chromosomes was a fusion of 2 chromosomes. They were right. It was human chromosome two.

They predicted our human chromosome two would have to match 2 different chromosomes in chimps. They were right. There was a perfect match, everything about it was exactly what they expected.

They made a testable prediction and evolution passed the test.

Compare this science to the childish religious fantasy called magical creationism (also known as magical intelligent design creationism). Have the creationists made any predictions about their magical creation of every creature out of nothing? No, of course not. It's not possible to test for magic. All creationists can do is complain about evolution, and they can't do that without lying about it.
